CRICKET

Cricket

Name: Cricket
Age: Born in September 2023, and came home to us in January 2024 as a little baby.
Personality:Cricket is an adorable and chaotic family jokester who loves stirring up trouble. He’s sweet, cuddly, and playful but can be mischievous, breaking or getting into things. Keeping him entertained helps. He adores his sister Scamp, playing and cuddling with her often. An avid climber, he enjoys destroying the bed canopy and jumping on the wardrobe. Oddly, he likes being lightly spanked. Play motivates him more than food, though he'll come running for a treat. He does have issues with eating enough sometimes, because he doesn't seem to think about it much. While he's not as food-driven as Scamp, Cricket’s curiosity may lead him to get into forbidden foods like chocolate, so we have to be mindful and keep food out of reach. He has started to enjoy sleeping in laps more and more and will plop down on top of you when he feels like it. He likes to stare up and you and watch you work.
Play: Cricket loves to chase his wire toy around in circles on the couch and on the bed. He is curious about everything so he is always climbing up high to get a good look, and loves getting attention by being naughty.

SCAMP

Scamp

Name: Scamp
Age: Scamp was born in 2018, but she is still the baby. She is so incredibly small, it's hard to imagine without seeing her in person.
Personality: Scamp is a Cornish Rex and super sweet, social, and needy (in terms of needing a blankie or a lap to sleep in, and ALL the food). She doesn't have a mean bone in her body! She also doesn't have a lot of fur so she gets cold easily. She is SUPER food motivated. She will steal food if she smells it, so we can't leave anything out or have it accessible to her, even if it’s wrapped. She’s athletic and strong, despite her small size (tiny but mighty!). She will jump on your shoulders if she’s being held or if you’re leaning over, she likes to climb up onto people sometimes. She’s wiggly, and won’t let you hold her long unless she's feeling sleepy. She’s super sweet and cuddly and will want to crawl into your lap and groom and then go to sleep. She likes getting under blankets to sleep, laying on her heating pad, or in a lap under a blanket. She follows us around the house and always wants to know what everyone is doing. She’s very vocal when she wants something, and she will constantly beg for food at certain times of the day (like clock work) despite it being hours before her scheduled feeding time. She sometimes looks like a frog because she compresses her body in such a funny way. She will quiver when she wants something and is very good at communicating her needs. She's really more like a monkey gremlin creature than a cat!
Play: She sometimes likes to play with string/rope toys that can be swung around. Sometimes she likes to get into a small box and be swung, like a gondola. She is not super interested in playing though and would rather just snuggle. She is a big jumper and will jump on your shoulders like a parrot.

CASH

Cash

Name: Cash
Age: Cash was born in Texas in the fall of 2011. He was a pudgey little fluff ball as a baby!
Personality: Cash is a sweet obedient very smart pupper who loves to play, but also loves to sit around with his people and his cat siblings. He can be nervous when he's away from us, but he's very affectionate with just about everyone and makes friends easily. He's incredibly loyal and cares more about his people than other dogs. He really likes smaller dogs the best (I think because they remind him of his kitty siblings). He knows many commands (sit, stay, beg, roll over, shake, leave it, go slowly... etc), and tends to be play and food motivated. He enjoys walks, hikes, and runs, but has been slowing down in his old age. Cash knows every spot where there might be a ball in the neighborhood, even if those spots change. He also knows every person and location where he has received a treat, and will make a big fuss about going over there to get one when he thinks he can! He's very attentive and has the best manners. Cash is named after Johnny Cash. :-)
Play: He loves to play fetch with his Chuck It ball the most, but he likes just about any game and will fetch or play tug-o-war with whatever toy you give him. He's a HUGE fan of small cat toys, even though he knows he's not allowed to have them because they're too small.
